Renude has always been committed to providing a quality service, but we’re not just focused on making your skin glow; we’re also very conscious of the problems the skincare industry has with CO2, waste and non-biodegradable plastics and have built our business model with ways in which we can do our part to address this.

How we are eliminating waste

Renude’s research has shown that individuals are spending 9 working days per year just researching skincare before making their purchases. Further studies tell us, that 26% of people don’t know their skin type so it’s no surprise that 62% of the products purchased; whether through influencer marketing, a personal recommendation or independent research aren’t suitable for the skin.

The fallout of this means that the same average person, just looking to care for their skin, is spending on average £617 annually on products that almost half of don’t get finished and people are sometimes left off with their skin in a far worse off position than before. We are consciously Selective with the brands we work with

Cruelty-Free and Vegan Products

Renude is proud to offer a range of cruelty-free and vegan skincare products. Brands include:

We considered packaging innovation

One of the most visible ways Renude showcases its commitment to sustainability is through its packaging. They understand the environmental impact of packaging materials and have taken steps to reduce it:

  • Recyclable Materials: Renude’s shipping boxes are made with a certified board (Forestry Stewardship Council), using 85% recycled material, and earth-inks for printing and are uncoated. Of course, they are fully recyclable (as most are)

  • Forget the filler: We use minimal (if any) void fill in the parcels and when we do it's brown recycled paper.

  • Minimalistic Design: Our packaging design is minimalist, reducing waste and energy during production.

We’ve Reduced our Carbon Footprint

Renude is actively working to reduce its carbon footprint through various initiatives:

Working From Home

  • No Commuting Emissions: Our team works remotely to reduce commuting emissions. When you work from home, you eliminate the need for daily travel to and from the office and no longer contribute to the burning of fossil fuels.

  • Lower Energy Consumption: In many cases, home offices are equipped with energy-efficient appliances and lighting. Additionally, you can control the temperature and lighting in your home workspace more efficiently than in a larger office building, which can lead to reduced energy consumption.

  • Less Office Infrastructure: Working from home can reduce the demand for office space, which often requires a considerable amount of energy to build, heat, cool, and maintain. This means fewer resources are expended on office infrastructure.

  • Decreased Paper Usage: Remote work often encourages digital document sharing and collaboration, which reduces the need for printing and paper usage. This, in turn, helps conserve forests and reduces carbon emissions associated with paper production and transportation.

From the Warehouse to Your Door

  • Transportation methods: Rende works with ShipBob, and Shopify to ensure a more eco-friendly transportation method for shipping products to reduce emissions.

Community Engagement and Transparency

Renude believes in engaging with our community and being transparent about their sustainability efforts:

  • Educational Content: We try to keep our community up to date with all of the skincare industry's changes and conditions, from identifying brands and products that are vegan, cruelty-free and certified by Leaping Bunny, to those that are eco-conscious and use recyclable materials. We update our blog regularly too, as the industry makes changes.

  • Promoting a Diverse Workforce: We love that remote working enables Renude to hire talent from a wider geographic area. Not only has this allowed us to create a hardworking, diverse and enriching team, but we find this can reduce the need for long-distance relocations, build loyalty and trust within the team and promote employment.

Renude is not just about skincare; it's about empowering consumers to make conscious choices and we believe that should be echoed right the way through to our responsibility to make a positive impact on the environment.
